John Sharman

Emeritus Advisor and Chairman of Magi Partners Aircraft Management (MPAM)

John Sharman is non-Executive Chairman of Magi’s Korean joint venture (MPAM), was a co-founder of Magi and acts as Emeritus Advisor to the group.

In 1985 he was a founding shareholder (and CEO outside of North America) of Spectrum Capital, a joint venture with the Mitsubishi group. Over the subsequent 27 years he was involved in the financing of $25 billion of aircraft for a number of major airlines, including British Airways, Qantas, easyJet and Ryanair. Appointed to the board of Aer Lingus in 2003, he subsequently became Chairman (2004 – 2008) and acting CEO of the airline.

He is a graduate of University College, Oxford (Rolls Royce University Apprentice).
